There was a good turnout for our first dig of the year at this new farm. The weather stayed dry, the digging was good and we were all glad to be out on this dig together.
There was rather a lot of trash, all giving out frustratingly good signals. Most notable, was the vast number of moo tubes!
Some members did have some good finds, however. There were two fibulas, buckles, silver coins and Roman coins…and a lead toy cow!
There were two outstanding finds, however: two silver denarii. These were nominated for Find of the Day.
After the vote, in second place was Amanda’s Septimus Severis 193 - 211 CE

In first place was Izaak’s Domitian 81 - 96 CE. Congratulations Izaak!
