Charity Dig 6th September 2026 in support of Ambitious About Autism.

There was a great turnout for this dig at a popular farm with the Mercians and the weather did in disappoint, even though the wind was a little enthusiastic in the morning! There was a great atmosphere and the lunchtime barbecue (with veggie and vegan options) was enjoyed, along with the cake and drinks. We all walked a little slower after such a good lunch! There was an excellent raffle, too. Even more importantly, £1070.26 was raised for the excellent work carried out by Ambitious About Autism. Congratulations Mercians!

There were some lovely finds, among them:

Alex’s silver ring

David’s Scapular Pendant

And Lee’s Breitling Colt watch

But there was one truly outstanding find and, consequently, it was the only find nominated for Find of the Day:

Eddie’s c9th Century strap end - congratulations Eddie!
