For our club weekender we returned to a favourite farm in mid Worcestershire and on the first day’s dig the weather smiled on us. After the recent rain the digging was good and one field, in particular, was generous with the finds. There were fibulas, bag seals, farm tokens, a toy canon, and barrel taps, alongside plenty of coins and some hammered coins. It was a great day’s digging in excellent company.

The members vote on the find of the day brought the following result on three brilliant finds:

In third place was Lee’s wonderful seal matrix

In second place was Sam’s beautiful silver medal

In first place, by a significant margin was Debbie’s amazing Roman coin. Congratulations Debbie!
