Exciting new fields in great North Worcestershire location with historical heritage. 9th August 2026

We all arrived with anticipation as we knew this field would likely bring some great finds and reveal some interesting history and, indeed this was the case. The ground was challenging and we all agreed that we want to return for a re-dig once there has been some significant rain. 

There was plenty of fun, laughter, cake and chat as well as detecting, and there was a good list of nominations for Find of the Day. After the voting, 

In 4th place was Debbie’s lovely strap end

In 3rd place was Bill’s impressive flint

In 2nd place was Greg’s intriguing religious medallion or rosary pendant that is yet to be accurately identified

But in 1st place by a good margin it’s Mark’s incredible groat. Congratulations Mark!
