The weather smiled upon us before and during this dig on a farm we visited for a charity dig last year. In the lead up to the day there was just enough rain to soften the digging, during the dig it stayed dry and not too hot. We had 50 acres across several fields and 40 detectorists attended. Sadly, there weren’t a great number of exciting finds but a few gems did come up. Those of who didn’t find anything to grace the poll for Find of the Day did have the joy of great company, good weather, and Deb’s cake.
In third place was Melissa’s William and Mary groat
In second place was Jack’s gold ring
The clear winner was Rob’s Henry VIII sixpence. Congratulations Rob!
