A return to a farm the club has visited before but to a new, very large field. Great weather, great digging and great company…and of course, great cake from Debbie!
There were areas of trash and other areas of plenty, with some interesting finds coming up with buckles, a belt hanger, a lock plate from a chest and a significant number of coins, including silver and hammereds. We were a happy bunch of detectorists!
There were just two nominations for Find of the Day, not through a shortage of contenders, but because there were two really spectacular finds. The voting was close this time.
In second place was Gage’s beautiful hammered groat in perfect condition
In first place was Guy’s Pilgrim’s Ampulla. Congratulations Guy!
