We were back at this farm that has served us well over a few digs, and that provided a Celtic stater on our last visit. We all arrived hopeful for some good finds and, of course, willing more gold to surface but the latter was not to be. The digging was good and a lot of acres were on offer. Some fields produced more finds than others and the finds were very varied - including Rob’s partial (he is missing his legs) lead, toy fireman.
Two nominations were made by members for the Find of the Day
The runner up is Jack’s hammered coin, found on the way to his car as he was leaving - on the same route, he found a cut coin to go with it!
But the winner by a significant margin, was Debbie’s 1915 silver George V - a fine example. Congratulations Debbie!
