Another new farm, three different kinds of fields, the best weather of the week - every other day had brought torrential rain - brilliant digging and excellent company, not to mention another of Debbie’s delicious cakes!
The finds came slowly at first, but then were plenty across all three fields. Small curios, coins, buttons, buckles, silver coins and hammereds…plenty to choose from for Find of the Day but in the end there were five obvious nominees when members came to choose. Among the five was one particularly exciting find that might be a rare item…
The members voted and the outcome was:
In joint fourth place, Sarah’s flint blade and Lee’s silver sixpence

In third place, Barry’s fibula

In second place, Ken and Sue’s unusual hammered coin

But in first place by a clear majority, was Tony’s silver, medieval pilgrim’s badge. Congratulations Tony!
