This re-dig was one with numbers limited to 30. Those who gained places turned up enthusiastically for a visit to a farm that had previously delivered some interesting finds, including a canon ball.
The weather was good and the digging easy. Spirits were high as we set out across the field and we weren’t disappointed. Lots of hammered coins came up, some other silver coins, a couple of very old and interesting buckles, farm tokens and a barrel tap. There was, however, one stand out find that everyone agreed should be find of the day without any competition.
It was this beautiful Pilgrim’s Ampulla found by Steven. Congratulations Steven!
