It was a Saturday dig, which is not so common for us and some Mercians weren’t able to attend due to commitments. Nevertheless, it was a good turnout and the weather was good. The digging was surprisingly good, given the recent heatwaves.
It was the day of the farm tokens, it seemed, with quite a few lovely specimens coming up alongside a couple of hammereds, some silver and some nice examples of small brooches and pins.




However, there was really only one contender for Find of the Day
It was Ken’s gold ring. Congratulations Ken!
