We are back on new fields on the new farm that gave us so many finds the previous week, and we weren’t disappointed. Cold but dry with occasional sunshine, the weather held for us and the digging was wonderful. The finds were plentiful and varied with a number of silver coins, hammereds, coppers, a Franc and a Roman, all on the same fields of around 30 acres. Among the more unusual finds were a partial Charles Horner bracelet, a figurine of an American First Nations chief, another of a motorcyclist with rider, a spur and a hanger. Four fibulas were also found. Two lovely finds were nominated by members for Find of the Day and the members vote was:

In second place, Philip’s beautiful fibula

But in first place was Alex’s amazing dagger hilt! Congratulations Alex!
