Return to South Worcestershire 27th April 2025

Our fourth visit to what has become a firm favourite among farms for Mercians, given the number of interesting finds that have come up here. We weren’t disappointed as the coins and artefacts emerged again, and we’ll all be looking forward to future visits. Thanks to these lovely farmers who welcome us so well!

Four outstanding finds were nominated for Find of the Day by members, all of which were popular. There was a clear favourite, though. 

In fourth place was Robert’s beautiful Elizabeth I sixpence

In third place was Izaak’s stunning Charles II

In second place was Barry’s beautiful pommel 

In spite of how amazing all these finds were, they were pipped to the post by an extraordinarily preserved fibula, complete with pin, found by Daz
