Return to the site of the Scattered hoard of denarii. North Worcestershire 5th October 2025.

We returned to the site that provided a scattered hoard of denarii a few months ago with a mixture of anticipation and hope. Sadly for most of us that hope was unfruitful and only one, partial denarius was found. There were a few hammered coins and more modern silver coins and some interesting older copper coins, but for many of us this dig did not send us home with exciting finds but we settled for the toasted copper coins, shot, buttons and a few buckles. There was a little red bus for Daz, too! 

There were four nominations for Find of the Day, though, and when the members had voted the results were as follows:

In fourth place was Jack’s watch winder

In third place was Carl’s partial denarius

In second place was Bryn’s silver button

But in first place was Rob’s fibula. Congratulations Rob!
