It was a wet and windy day for a dig but that didn’t deter the intrepid Mercian detectorists from turning up to new fields at this farm that has been visited in the past. The spirits were high and the worst of the weather was dodged, as it arrived later in the day. Debbie’s cake was much appreciated by the weary members taking a break from what wasn’t the easiest of digging. There were some lovely finds for some, while others took away more modest items.
There were four nominations from members for Find of the Day, and after a poll, the results were:
In fourth place: Rodger’s medal

In third place: Tom’s hammered coin

In second place, Sarah’s toy bus

But in first place, by one vote, was Ken’s Henry V farthing. Congratulations Ken!
