Mercia Metal Detecting Club

Our Club Constitution

Welcome to the Mercia Metal Detecting Club website! Established in 2023, we are a community of passionate metal detectorists dedicated to exploring the rich history of our region. With over 80 Club Members, we organise regular social events to enhance our members' metal detecting skills and to unearth the history underneath our feet. Our club is open to people of all ages and experience levels, from beginners to experienced detectorists. Join us on this exciting journey as we uncover hidden treasures and unravel the mysteries of the past!

Our members welfare is one of our main priorities, we make sure they are looked after on our events with free tea and coffee, with water during the warmer months and a fully stocked first aid kit.  We also benefit from a defibrillator.  For the ladies there is a tented toilet facility.  The other main priority is our landowners, that give us their land &  permission to hold our events on and to make sure we as a club, leave the land in the same condition as agreed.

We encourage all our members to report their finds to the Portable Antiquities Scheme via the Finds Liaison Officers. We are a non- profit making club and our annual accounts are published on our Facebook page at the time of the AGM and are available at any time on request. Our club is run by an established committee elected at the Annual General Meetings & our club rules are published on this website.
